Christchurch: The first Test between New Zealand and West Indies in Christchurch ended in a draw after a remarkable batting performance by the West Indies.
New Zealand had set a target of 531 runs for victory, but West Indies’ resilient batting ensured the match was shared. In their fourth innings, West Indies batted for 163.3 overs and scored 457 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
Justin Greaves remained unbeaten on 202 runs off 388 balls, while Kemar Roach scored 58 not out off 233 balls, forming an important 180-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Shai Hope also played a brilliant innings of 140 runs, helping his team save the match.
