First Supermoon of the Year Lights Up the Sky
SUPARCO noted that this supermoon is the final in a series that began in October 2025.
ISLAMABAD: The first supermoon of the new year, also known as the “Wolf Moon,” is appearing larger than usual in the night sky. Observers can see the moon about 6 to 7 percent bigger compared to a regular full moon.
According to the Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the moon’s brightness will reach 99.8 percent during the supermoon, which will be clearly visible on the nights of January 3 and 4.

SUPARCO noted that this supermoon is the final in a series that began in October 2025. The second and last supermoon of the year will occur in November 2026, and there will be no third supermoon in the year 2026.
The supermoon is being observed not only in Pakistan but also in several countries around the world.
