First Phase of Privatization to Include PIA and Women Bank: Senate Committee Reveals

Islamabad: The Privatization Commission has outlined plans for its inaugural phase, set to span a year and target four institutions, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Women Bank.
During a session chaired by Senator Talal Chaudhry, the Senate Standing Committee on Privatization received a briefing from Secretary Privatization Jawad Pal. Discussions emphasized the critical role of privatization amidst the current economic challenges, with committee members expressing unity in national interest.
Secretary Pal highlighted the evolution of the Privatization Commission since its establishment through the Privatization Commission Ordinance of 2000, underscoring its operational readiness and the absence of vacancies on the current board.
