ISLAMABAD: A terrible fire engulfed the Margalla Hills National Park, a large area of ​​the National Park is under fire.

The fire broke out in the area of ​ MF-16 (Cheran Di Gali) Margalla Hills.

CDA Environment Department officials are busy extinguishing the fire. Firefighters are facing huge difficulties but they continue to put out efforts.

Warning issued: Karachi to face heat wave from May 29

The Met Department has issued a warning indicating the likelihood of a heat wave in Karachi from May 29 to 31.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz emphasized that the weather will remain hot in the city today, with temperatures expected to reach between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius.

In addition to Karachi, several districts in Sindh, including Qamber Shahdadkot, Larkana, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad, are expected to experience temperatures 6 to 8 degrees higher than normal. Moreover, regions such as Khairpur, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Tharparkar may see temperatures 4 to 6 degrees Celsius higher.

Sarfaraz further warned that the intensity of the heat is expected to be particularly high on May 29 and 30. Residents are urged to take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses during this period of extreme temperatures.

Despite the current heat wave, the chief meteorologist provided a glimmer of hope that the weather is expected to improve after June 10 to 15. This forecast offers some respite for residents who are bracing themselves for the upcoming days of intense heat.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has also issued a warning, confirming the persistence of the ongoing heat wave across Punjab today. According to a spokesperson from the PDMA, temperatures are expected to soar between 45 and 50 degrees Celsius, intensifying the heatwave’s impact on the region.

The spokesperson further highlighted that certain districts, including Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Multan, may experience particularly severe conditions. In response, the PDMA is actively working to ensure the provision of clean water in affected areas, with special attention given to districts like Cholistan.
