FIA Reports Major Strides in Immigration Control at Karachi Airport
Significant Arrests and Enhanced Technology Mark Eight Months of Improved Immigration Control
Karachi-The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration division at Karachi airport has released its performance report for the past eight months, showcasing notable successes in immigration control and security.
During this period, the FIA apprehended 83 individuals attempting to travel with fake documents and 28 others caught with counterfeit passports. Additionally, 55 suspects were detained for issues related to fraudulent visas and being on the stop list.
The report highlights that immigration procedures were completed for passengers on 16,700 flights, totaling over two million travelers in the eight-month timeframe.

To boost the efficiency and accuracy of immigration checks, the FIA has integrated direct access to the Interpol database into its departure and arrival counter systems. The agency has also equipped its staff with advanced forensic and IT tools, enabling more rigorous secondary verifications of visas and passports.
In an effort to enhance passenger experience, the FIA has introduced a QR code system that allows travelers to provide feedback on their experiences. This initiative aims to gather valuable insights to further improve the quality of services at Karachi Airport.
