FIA DG Ishaq Jahangir and KP IG Akhtar Hayat Removed from Their Positions
ISLAMABAD: In a significant reshuffle, the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Ishaq Jahangir, and the Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Akhtar Hayat, have been removed from their positions.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved the decision to remove Ishaq Jahangir from his role, and he has been made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Additionally, IG Akhtar Hayat Gandapur has been relieved of his duties, and Zulfiqar Hamid has been appointed as the new IG of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Zulfiqar Hamid, who previously served in the Punjab government, will take over the position.
The Establishment Division has issued notifications for the appointments and transfers, instructing Akhtar Hayat Gandapur to report to the Establishment Division.
