FIA Arrests SEPCO Supervisor in Major Power Theft Operation

This illicit activity has inflicted a loss exceeding 6.2 million rupees on the national exchequer.

SHAHEED BENAZIRABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested Ghulam Mustafa, a Sukkur Electric Power Supply Company SEPCO meter supervisor, for his involvement in a large-scale electricity theft scheme.

According to the FIA spokesman, Mustafa, who was stationed in the SEPCO division of Moro, collaborated with industrial and commercial consumers to steal electricity. Flour mill owners, with Mustafa’s assistance, installed direct wires to bypass meters, resulting in false readings and substantial financial kickbacks for Mustafa.
