FIA Arrests Passport Office Officials for Issuing Illegal Passports to Foreigners

Following the arrests, the FIA’s CTW has intensified its actions to further investigate and address the breach.

Karachi: The FIA Counter Terrorism Wing has apprehended Syed Nusrat Ali, a superintendent, and Farid Shah, a former assistant director, from the Sadar Passport Office in Karachi for their involvement in issuing Pakistani passports to 63 foreigners.

The officials are accused of manipulating records and data within the passport office, enabling the fraudulent issuance of passports. Subsequent investigations led to the cancellation of these passports, primarily issued to Afghan nationals who were using them to work abroad.
