Federal Interior Minister Assures Chinese Ambassador of Enhanced Security Measures

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a crucial meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad on Sunday, emphasizing Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the safety of Chinese citizens.

 

The meeting centered on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China, which was hailed as instrumental in strengthening the enduring friendship between the two nations.

 

Minister Naqvi assured Ambassador Jiang of Pakistan’s comprehensive security measures, particularly in Islamabad, aimed at safeguarding Chinese nationals. He highlighted the implementation of stringent Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the establishment of a specialized Security Protection Unit (SPU) dedicated to foreign nationals.

Expressing satisfaction with Pakistan’s proactive security arrangements, Ambassador Jiang reaffirmed China’s steadfast commitment to its “all-weather” friendship with Pakistan. Both sides emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

 

The meeting, attended by Federal Secretary Interior Khurram Ali Agha and senior officials from the Chinese Embassy, concluded on a positive note, with a shared commitment to ensuring a secure environment and fostering mutual prosperity through collaborative efforts.
