Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar Optimistic about Resolving Cases by May 9
Tarar revealed that a private sector delegation from Saudi Arabia is also expected to visit soon.
ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has expressed confidence that pending cases will soon reach logical conclusions by May 9.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad after a cabinet meeting, he emphasized that Pakistan strategically holds a significant position, as evident from the serious discussions being held with friendly nations, which constitute a new chapter in Pakistan’s foreign policy.
Tarar highlighted the prestigious status of being a nuclear state, adding that positive economic indicators are emerging since the new government’s inception. It is widely acknowledged that the government is actively working towards economic betterment, and the fruits of these efforts will soon reach the public. This, he said, is a stroke of luck for Pakistan, as the Prime Minister and his cabinet are tirelessly working towards policy formulation and economic improvement.
He noted that since the government’s assumption of power, Pakistan has gained considerable international acceptance due to decisions made for the betterment of the economy. Being a nuclear state is a significant achievement, especially considering Pakistan’s abundance of natural and water resources.
Tarar shared that the recent visit to Saudi Arabia by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was highly successful, with the Saudi delegation expressing gratitude for the hospitality extended during the visit. He praised the seriousness shown by the Saudi delegation in investment discussions and mentioned forthcoming high-level visits to finalize agreements in various sectors, including refineries and tourism.
Furthermore, Tarar revealed that a private sector delegation from Saudi Arabia is also expected to visit soon. He emphasized that their collaboration with Pakistani sectors will be a significant step towards economic improvement.
The Federal Minister expressed admiration for Shahbaz Sharif‘s work ethic, describing him as a leader who works round the clock. He highlighted the positive momentum in the stock exchange and reiterated that these developments will eventually benefit the common man.
Tarar mentioned that detailed discussions took place during today’s cabinet meeting regarding the Saudi visit and the wheat situation. It was decided to write to all provincial governments to increase wheat procurement targets to ensure farmers receive fair prices.

Speaking about the opposition, he stated that the first meeting of the opposition party in Balochistan was unsuccessful, showing disunity among themselves. He suggested that instead of engaging in internal disputes, they should focus on collaborative efforts for economic improvement, which will ultimately benefit the nation.
In conclusion, Tarar expressed Pakistan’s desire for good relations with all countries and revealed ongoing meetings with the Treasury Secretary of the United States. He hoped that with adherence to legal procedures, pending cases would be resolved by May 9, and in the coming months, there would be noticeable improvements in various sectors, particularly regarding petrol prices, which are expected to stabilize.
