Federal Govt to Establish Safe City Projects in Dasu and Chilas for Foreigners’ Security

Islamabad: The government has decided to implement Safe City Projects in Dasu and Chilas to enhance the security of foreigners, including Chinese nationals. This decision was made during a key meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

In the meeting, Naqvi established a special committee to develop a comprehensive plan for the Safe City Projects. He mandated the submission of final recommendations within 15 days, emphasizing the Prime Minister’s directive to create a modern Safe City system in these regions, similar to those in Islamabad and Lahore.

Naqvi clarified that the Safe City Projects would incorporate advanced technology and artificial intelligence, extending beyond mere camera installations. The initiative aims to ensure robust security and surveillance in the areas.

The Interior Minister stated that the Islamabad Police would offer full support for these projects. He tasked WAPDA, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, and the Islamabad Police with jointly preparing a detailed plan. The committee, comprising the IG Islamabad, RPO Hazara, and a WAPDA representative, has been directed to convene and present a comprehensive plan within 15 days for the establishment of the Safe City Projects in Chilas.
