Federal Government Sets Diyat Value at Rs8.1 Million for 2024-2025

The federal government has officially set the Diyat value for the financial year 2024-2025 at Rs8,103,955, which is equivalent to 30,630 grams of silver.

This announcement was made through a notification issued by the Finance Division in accordance with sub-section (2) of Section 323 of the Pakistan Penal Code (Act XLV of 1860).

A copy of the notification has been forwarded to the Secretary of the Law and Justice Division in Islamabad. The secretary has been instructed to circulate the new Diyat value to all courts and bar associations across the country.

For the previous fiscal year 2022-23, the Diyat amount was Rs4,318,524, also based on the value of 30,630 grams of silver. The significant increase reflects changes in silver prices and economic factors over the past year. This new Diyat amount will now be applicable in cases of compensation as per Islamic law.
