FBR extends deadline for sales tax return filing
In a bid to facilitate taxpayers, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced a four-day extension in the deadline for the submission of tax returns.
Islamabad: FBR extends deadline for sales tax return filing. According to a notification issued by the chief commissioner of Inland Revenue, taxpayers now have until April 22 to submit their sales tax and federal excise returns, instead of the previous deadline of April 18.
This decision comes as a relief for taxpayers who may require additional time to gather the necessary documentation and ensure accurate submission of their returns.
The extension aims to streamline the tax filing process and provide individuals and businesses with ample opportunity to fulfill their tax obligations without facing undue pressure.
The Inland Revenue chief commissioner has instructed all field formations of the FBR to disseminate information about the extended deadline and ensure compliance with the revised submission timeline.

FBR also collects intelligence on tax evasion and administers tax laws for the Government of Pakistan and acts as the central revenue collection agency of Pakistan.
