FBR Chairman Promises Facilitation to Islamabad Business Community

Islamabad (Web Desk): An 18-member delegation from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), led by its President Sardar Tahir Mahmood, met with Rashid Mahmood Langrial, Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), at FBR Headquarters in Islamabad to discuss key taxation challenges facing businesses in the capital.

The ICCI delegation highlighted issues including super tax, delayed tax refunds, point-of-sale (POS) integration for small enterprises, taxation of the real estate sector, and other operational difficulties.

Chairman FBR assured the delegation that maximum facilitation would be provided, emphasizing that genuine hardship cases would receive special consideration. He reiterated that while tax collection under the law would continue, tax evasion would not be tolerated.

FBR Orders Hotels, Healthcare Units to Install POS Systems

FBR officials including the Member (Legal IR), Member (IR Operations), and Member (Customs Operations) attended the meeting, providing clarifications on the queries raised by the business representatives.

Acknowledging the business community’s vital role in economic growth, Chairman FBR underscored that creating a business-friendly environment remains a top priority, directing relevant FBR wings to resolve genuine concerns promptly.
