Fazlur Rehman Slams Govt Over ‘Flawed Decisions,’ Vows JUI Will Not Accept Rigged Mandates
Fazal also strongly opposed recent parliamentary legislation outlawing Nikah (marriage) under the age of 18
Battagram – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman launched a scathing attack on the current government during a political rally in Battagram on Sunday, claiming that those running the country lack political wisdom and their flawed decisions will have long-lasting consequences.
Speaking to a charged crowd, Fazl declared that he does not recognize any government other than one elected by the people of Pakistan. He reaffirmed his resolve to oppose past and present administrations, stating, “I did not let previous governments stay, and I won’t let this one stay either.” He emphasized that JUI workers will remain active on the ground and asserted his party’s determination to emerge victorious in future political contests.
Criticizing the integrity of electoral processes, Fazl said the nation has no right to complain about corruption if it continues to tolerate election rigging. He rejected the legitimacy of both the 2018 and 2024 general elections, branding them as rigged and manipulated.
The JUI leader also condemned the government’s decision to merge the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, calling it a “flawed and unilateral” move. He claimed the tribal population remains aggrieved by this action and accused the government of ignoring their concerns.

In a pointed critique of Pakistan’s foreign policy, Fazl said that any government reliant on the United States should refrain from preaching about Islam and representing the will of the Pakistani people. He accused the rulers of consistently breaking promises and straying from the path of the Constitution.
He also strongly opposed recent parliamentary legislation outlawing Nikah (marriage) under the age of 18, claiming it equates to banning a lawful religious practice.
Fazlur Rehman’s fiery speech signals JUI’s readiness to escalate political opposition as the party rejects the existing political order and continues to challenge the credibility of Pakistan’s democratic process.
