Fawad Chaudhry’s Bail Extended; New Hearing Set for October 5
An anti-terrorism court has extended Former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry’s interim bail in connection with five cases linked to the May 9 riots. The court granted Chaudhry’s request for a one-day exemption from attending in person and rescheduled the bail hearing to October 5.
Earlier, the court had ordered the police not to arrest Chaudhry in relation to these cases, which involve accusations of violence during the May 9 incidents. The judge directed the police to submit the case records by the next hearing.
Outside the court, Chaudhry expressed optimism for a favorable resolution, mentioning that he had previously been detained four times. He is currently dealing with several legal issues, including corruption charges.
