Fake Claim About Salman Khan Added to Pakistan’s Anti-Terror List Debunked
Authorities have urged the public not to believe such misleading claims and rely only on official announcements.
ISLAMABAD: A viral claim circulating on social media suggested that Bollywood actor Salman Khan had been added to Pakistan’s Fourth Schedule under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. The alleged notification reportedly cited comments made by the actor about Balochistan during an event in Saudi Arabia.
However, fact-checking has confirmed that the claim is entirely false. Officials from the Balochistan government have clarified that the notification is fake and was not issued by the provincial Home Department.
Javed Ali, Section Officer at Balochistan Home Department, explained that a genuine notification was issued on October 16, listing certain individuals in the Fourth Schedule. The circulated version, however, had been digitally altered to include Salman Khan’s name. He emphasized that the document is completely fabricated.

A senior official, speaking on condition of anonymity, pointed out multiple spelling and grammatical errors in the viral notification that further raise doubts about its authenticity. For instance, the word “affiliated” was misspelled as “aftilisted,” and while the notification stated “the following names,” only one name appeared in the list.
Digital forensic platform Attestiv confirmed that the document has a 93% “tamper score,” indicating it was digitally edited.
Authorities have urged the public not to believe such misleading claims and rely only on official announcements.
