Facebook Launches New Content Monetization Beta
Facebook has officially launched its new beta program for Content Monetization, a unified initiative aimed at helping creators earn money on the platform. This program combines several existing monetization features, including In-stream ads, Ads on Reels, and Performance Bonus, into a more streamlined offering.
With this new program, creators will be able to monetize a wide range of content types, such as Reels, long-form videos, photos, and text posts. The method for calculating earnings remains the same, with revenue determined by engagement, views, and plays of the content.
Facebook has started sending invitations to one million creators currently monetizing their content on the platform, with plans to invite more in the future. These invitations will be communicated through official Facebook or Meta channels, such as the Facebook app, Meta Business Suite, and the Professional dashboard. Creators interested in participating in the beta program can sign up for a waitlist.
To improve transparency, Facebook has added a new Insights tab in the Professional dashboard and Meta Business Suite, enabling creators to track their earnings from various content formats in one easy-to-access location.
After the beta testing phase, Facebook plans to discontinue the existing Ads on Reels, In-Stream Ads, and Performance Bonus programs. Meanwhile, Instagram maintains a separate monetization program for creators, offering diverse earning opportunities, including subscriptions, gifts from fans, and brand collaborations.
