LAHORE: FACE (Food Security & Agriculture Centre of Excellence), a not-for-profit organization, has partnered with the Punjab Government to enhance the agriculture sector. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Punjab Agriculture Department and FACE on Thursday, 19th December, marking the beginning of this collaborative effort.
The partnership aims to support the Punjab Agriculture Department in improving crop yields and promoting sustainable farming practices. FACE will provide technological innovations, international expertise, and infrastructure development to help farmers adapt to the region’s changing climate and address pressing agricultural challenges.
Punjab’s Agriculture Minister, Syed Ashiq Hussain, expressed his optimism about the partnership, noting that it would tackle significant issues such as food security, low crop yields, and the adverse impacts of climate change on agriculture. He emphasized that the collaboration will play a crucial role in strengthening the province’s agricultural resilience.
Mr. Hasan Akram, Chief Operating Officer of FACE, highlighted the organization’s commitment to empowering farmers by equipping them with modern techniques and global expertise. He stressed that this partnership would enable the adoption of innovative farming methods to improve productivity and sustainability in the region.
