Washington: (News Desk) – Experts have warned that the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence could eventually pose a threat on a scale comparable to nuclear weapons, intensifying calls for stronger safeguards and tighter regulation of the technology.

More than 1,300 computer scientists have signed an open letter urging governments and technology companies to reconsider the pace of AI development and introduce stricter safety measures.

However, the administration of US President Donald Trump has so far shown limited support for comprehensive legislation aimed at significantly regulating the sector.

Despite growing concerns among scientists and technology experts, the US administration has yet to announce major steps to substantially slow AI development. Experts, meanwhile, continue to push for stronger safeguards to reduce the risk of potentially catastrophic consequences.
