Stockholm: (Web Desk) The European Union has begun considering suspending a trade agreement with the United States.
Global media reports have said that the Greenland issue has sparked a trade dispute between the United States and its European allies, and Europe has warned of retaliatory measures after US President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on several European countries.
According to media reports, US President Donald Trump had said that the United States would impose customs duties on several European countries, emphasizing that these measures would continue until a deal for the purchase of Greenland is reached. He gave the reason for this purchase as threats to US and global national security.

It should be noted that the US President had said in a post on Truth Social that Washington has supported Denmark, the entire European Union and other countries for many years without any form of duty or compensation and now it is time for them to pay back because world peace is at stake.
Donald Trump announced that starting February 1, 2026, all goods coming to the United States from the aforementioned countries will be subject to a 10 percent customs duty, which will be increased to 25 percent from June 1, 2026.
He stressed that this duty will remain in effect until a full purchase agreement for Greenland is reached, pointing out that the United States has been trying to acquire Greenland for more than 150 years and that the need for it has become absolutely indispensable due to the modern defense system “Golden Dome”.
