Escalation in Gaza: Israeli jets and tanks target Palestinian areas.

A major new Israeli ground operation in Gaza City forces thousands of Palestinians to flee south under heavy fire.

Gaza – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Israeli tanks and warplanes heavily bombed Gaza City on Thursday. This started a major new ground attack, causing many Palestinian families to flee toward the south for safety.

People saw a steady flow of Gazans leaving the city. They walked, drove cars, or used donkey carts to carry their few belongings.

“The bombing never stops. There is gunfire from the air and the ground,” said Aya Ahmed, a woman hiding with her family. She asked, “They tell us to go south, but where do we go? We have no tents, no way to get there, and no money.”

The cost to escape has become extremely high. Some people are being asked to pay over a thousand dollars for a single ride.

One man described the escape as terrifying. “There were crowds everywhere, the sound of bombs, and people were crying and screaming as they carried their things,” said Shadi Jawad after he fled.

This new attack has caused anger around the world. The area is already destroyed from war, and people in Gaza City are starving. This happens as several countries plan to officially recognize a Palestinian state.

Israeli troops are moving into key areas on the edges of the city center. Phone and internet services were cut off across Gaza, which often means the fighting is about to get worse.

The army is targeting specific neighborhoods. This puts them in a position to move into the central zones where most people are hiding.

“We are very scared, but what can we do?” said Bassam Al-Qanou, who is living in a ragged tent on the beach with his large family.

According to local health officials, Israeli attacks have killed at least 85 people in Gaza in the last day. Most deaths were in Gaza City.

Later that day, the Israeli military said four of its soldiers were killed by an explosive device in southern Gaza.
