England Clinch 2-1 Lead in Test Series with 22-Run Win Over India at Lord’s

London – England secured a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series after a thrilling 22-run victory over India in the third Test at Lord’s. The hosts held their nerve in a low-scoring second innings to claim the crucial win.

Chasing a modest target of 193 runs, the Indian batting lineup collapsed under pressure, getting bowled out for just 170. Ravindra Jadeja was the top scorer for India with a fighting 61 runs, while KL Rahul contributed 39. However, most of the Indian batsmen failed to reach double figures, crumbling against England’s disciplined bowling attack.

Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer starred with the ball for England, each claiming three wickets. Kars picked up two, while Chris Woakes and Shoaib Bashir chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Earlier in the match, England set the tone by posting a first-innings total of 387 runs after winning the toss. Joe Root was the standout performer, scoring a brilliant 104. He was well supported by Braden Carus (56), Jamie Smith (51), and Ollie Pope (44).

India responded strongly, matching England’s total of 387 in their first innings. KL Rahul scored a resilient century, with solid contributions from Karun Nair (40), Jadeja (72), and Rishabh Pant (74), leveling the game heading into the final innings.

However, in the second innings, England managed to set a target of 193 runs for India after a quick batting collapse but held their own with the ball to seal a memorable win.
