Multan-England captain Ollie Pope highlighted the significance of fast bowler Mark Wood’s ability to exploit reverse swing ahead of the first Test match against Pakistan. Speaking at a press conference, Pope expressed confidence in his team’s bowling lineup.
Reflecting on England’s recent series against Sri Lanka, Pope noted, “We’ve learned a lot, and our bowlers now have a great opportunity to showcase their skills.”
He praised James Anderson’s consistent performances and confirmed spinner Jack Leach’s fitness after extensive bowling over the last six months. Pope acknowledged Pakistan’s strong lineup, particularly identifying Babar Azam and Naseem Shah as key players to watch.
“Babar Azam is an exceptional batsman, and Naseem Shah’s pace is a significant threat,” Pope said.
