Election Commission moved for removal of PM Kakar, cabinet members

ISLAMABAD -A petition has been filed with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) seeking the removal of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar from office, amidst concerns over election transparency, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The petition also calls for the removal of supervisory advisers Ahad Cheema and Fawad Hasan Fawad, as well as Principal Secretary Syed Tauqeer Hussain.

The petition, submitted by Supreme Court lawyer Syed Azizuddin Kakakhel, argues that these individuals, having been part of the previous government, could potentially influence the upcoming elections.

The text of the petition suggests that the transparency of the elections could be compromised due to these individuals’ presence in the caretaker government.

The petitioner has requested that if the government is committed to ensuring transparent elections, these individuals should be removed from their positions.

The final decision now rests with the Election Commission, which is expected to review the petition and make a ruling in due course.
