ECP Disqualifies MNA Jamshed Dasti Over Fake Documents
The Election Commission has also directed that legal proceedings be initiated against Jamshed Dasti.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified Member of National Assembly (MNA) Jamshed Dasti. The decision came after the ECP approved a reference sent by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq against Jamshed Dasti.
The ECP accepted two petitions against Dasti, declaring him ineligible due to possession of fake documents. Consequently, the National Assembly seat for NA-175 Muzaffargarh has been declared vacant.
The Election Commission has also directed that legal proceedings be initiated against Jamshed Dasti. Under the ECP’s ruling, Dasti has been disqualified under Articles 62(1)(d) and 63(1)(p) of the Constitution of Pakistan.
