Drug lab declares four medicines substandard, orders recall

LAHORE (Web Desk): A drug testing laboratory has declared four commonly used medicines as substandard and ordered their immediate removal from the market.

The medicines were found to be below quality standards during laboratory testing.

Among them, Ondasave (Ondansetron oral solution), used for treating nausea and vomiting, was found substandard because the level of Ethylene Glycol in the solution exceeded the permissible limit.

Similarly, the antibiotic injection SporeX was declared substandard and adulterated during testing.

The laboratory report also found the vitamin injection Nucobal to be substandard.

In addition, the steroid injection Nudex was also declared adulterated and below required standards.

Authorities have ordered the immediate withdrawal of the affected batches of these four medicines from the market to ensure patient safety.
