DPM Ishaq Dar to Visit Kabul for Signing of UAP Railway Project Framework Agreement
Senator Dar’s visit highlights Pakistan’s strong commitment to advancing the UAP Railway Project and enhancing regional cooperation.
Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will undertake a day-long visit to Kabul, Afghanistan, today to participate in the signing ceremony of the Framework Agreement on the Joint Feasibility Study for the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (UAP) Railway Project.
The Deputy Prime Minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Minister for Railways, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister/ Special Representative for Afghanistan, and the Secretary, Ministry of Railways.
The UAP Railway Project is a strategic regional initiative aimed at establishing a rail link between Uzbekistan and Pakistan via Afghanistan, thereby providing Central Asian States access to Pakistani seaports. The project is expected to play a significant role in boosting regional connectivity, trade, and economic integration, contributing to long-term stability and development in the region.
Senator Dar’s visit highlights Pakistan’s strong commitment to advancing the UAP Railway Project and enhancing regional cooperation. The signing of the Framework Agreement on the Joint Feasibility Study marks a significant milestone in the project’s progress and reflects the trilateral resolve to pursue mutually beneficial infrastructure development.

In addition to attending the signing ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister will hold a meeting with the Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan and will call on the Acting Prime Minister to discuss key bilateral issues, as well as exchange views on regional and international developments.
