DPM Ishaq Dar Arrives in Cairo for D-8 Summit

Dar is expected to engage in several bilateral meetings with his counterparts.

Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar arrived in Cairo on Tuesday to attend the 11th Summit of the Developing Eight (D-8) countries, scheduled for December 19.

Upon his arrival at Cairo International Airport, DPM Dar was warmly welcomed by Charge d’Affaires Dr. Raza Shahid, Additional Secretary Ambassador Ahmed Amjad Ali, and representatives from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

Ahead of the summit, DPM Dar will participate in the 21st Session of the D-8 Council of Ministers on December 18, where key discussions will take place to strengthen cooperation among the eight member countries.

During his visit, DPM Dar is also expected to engage in several bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other D-8 nations, aiming to further enhance diplomatic and economic ties. The D-8 Summit will provide an important platform for discussing mutual interests, economic development, and collaboration in diverse sectors among the member countries.

The D-8 group includes Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey, focusing on fostering economic cooperation and development among its members.
