Aisam Praises DHA Multan Tennis Event as Boost for Regional Talent

Multan — The 1st DHA Multan Invitational Tennis Tournament 2025 concluded with a vibrant closing ceremony at the DHA Tennis Courts, marking a historic revival of competitive tennis in Multan after more than 30 years. The tournament showcased top-tier talent from across Pakistan in men’s, women’s, and junior categories, drawing widespread attention and appreciation from the national tennis community.

In the men’s singles final, Muhammad Shoaib delivered a commanding performance to defeat Muzammil Murtaza 6-4, 6-2 and claim the championship. On the women’s side, national champion Ushna Suhail overpowered Amna Ali Qayum 6-0, 6-2 to take the title. In the boys’ under-18 category, Mikaeel Ali Baig emerged victorious against Abdul Basit with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win.

The event was graced by the Project Director of DHA Multan as Chief Guest and Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President, Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, as Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries included Col. Tahir Iqbal, CEO of Bodla Builders; Col. Zia-ud-din Tufail, Secretary General PTF; Col. Gul Rehman, Director PTF; and a large audience of players, parents, coaches, and media representatives.

Tournament Director Ms. Ayesha Ali Baig hailed the event as a milestone for the city. “This tournament is a landmark event for Multan, being the first in over 30 years. The players have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. InshaAllah, we aim to elevate this to a national ranking tournament in the near future.”

Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi praised the initiative, calling it “a major step in integrating regional talent into the national tennis framework” and expressed hopes of replicating similar events in other cities. He also extended heartfelt thanks to Ms. Ayesha, DHA Multan, and Bodla Builders for their pivotal roles in organizing the event.

Col. Zia-ud-Din Tufail echoed the sentiment, commending the tournament’s flawless execution and the warm hospitality shown to all participants.
