DG ISPR confirms Army Chief gave no interview, no apology
DG ISPR rejects false Army Chief interview and urges youth to resist propaganda and embrace national strength.
Pakistan-(Special Correspondent / Web Desk)- Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, clarified that the Army Chief has neither given any interview nor made any statement of apology. Speaking with journalists, he expressed regret that even a senior journalist had acted irresponsibly by spreading misleading claims.
He explained that the column mentioned by journalist Sohail Warraich was based on an event in Brussels, where hundreds of people took photographs. However, there was no mention of PTI, nor any talk of an apology. He described this act as an attempt to seek personal publicity, calling it inappropriate.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif stressed that any illegal act would face the law. He said the army remains a responsible institution, dedicated to safeguarding the nation. Pakistan, he noted, is a powerful country with the ability to shape the destiny of the region – which is why it faces repeated external attacks.

Encouraging the youth, he urged them to embrace the legacy of Pakistan’s ideology, recognise their own strength, and never fall for despair-driven propaganda. Quoting the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) at the conquest of Makkah, he reminded: “Truth has come, and falsehood has perished.”
The ISPR DG highlighted that Pakistan, despite a defence budget of Rs80 billion, has achieved nuclear capability — something larger nations like Iran could not. He warned that foreign propaganda often undermines Pakistani youth while glorifying India with titles like “shining state” and “Vishwaguru”. According to him, this narrative aims to weaken future generations.
