Deva Actor Rohullah Mehdi Arrested in Mumbai Drug Case
Shahid Kapoor’s Deva Co-Star Rohullah Mehdi Arrested in Mumbai Drug Case
Mumbai: (Showbiz Desk) – Actor and model Rohullah Mehdi, who appeared alongside Shahid Kapoor in the 2025 film Deva, has been arrested by the Kashimira Police Crime Branch in connection with an alleged narcotics network operating in Mumbai.
According to police and Indian media reports, the investigation began after authorities received information about the alleged sale of MD drugs through social media platforms including Snapchat and WhatsApp. Police reportedly set up a decoy operation near Dahisar Check Naka, where an associate was allegedly intercepted during a suspected drug transaction.
Police said 28 grams of MD, reportedly valued at around ₹5.6 lakh, were seized in the operation. Two people have been arrested in connection with the case, and Mehdi has reportedly been named as the main accused in FIR No. 437/2026.
Investigators reportedly arrested Mehdi outside a studio in Malad, where he was shooting. He was subsequently produced before a court, which sent him to five days of police custody, according to media reports.
Mehdi, who is reportedly from Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir and has been living in Mumbai, played a role in Deva, which starred Shahid Kapoor in the lead. He has also appeared in other films and web series.
The police investigation is continuing, with authorities examining the alleged supply network and looking into whether other individuals may be connected to the case. The allegations remain subject to investigation, and an arrest does not by itself establish guilt.
