According to officials, the M3 was closed between Faizpur and Darkhana, the M4 from Pindi Bhattian to Multan, the M11 from Lahore to Sialkot, and the M5 from Multan to Zahir Pir as visibility dropped to dangerously low levels.

The Motorway Police said the decision to suspend traffic was taken to safeguard lives and property, warning that fog-related low visibility significantly heightens the risk of serious road accidents. A spokesperson cautioned that lane violations in such conditions could prove fatal.
Syed Imran Ahmed urged motorists to strictly observe lane discipline and avoid unnecessary travel during foggy weather. He advised drivers to plan journeys during daylight hours, adding that the safest time to travel in fog is between 10am and 6pm.
Authorities also instructed motorists to ensure the use of fog lights, refrain from speeding and maintain adequate distance from other vehicles. Drivers were advised to remain patient and vigilant while travelling in low-visibility conditions.
Travellers seeking assistance or real-time updates were directed to contact the Motorway Police helpline at 130. Officials said the affected motorways would be reopened once weather conditions improve and visibility returns to acceptable levels.
