Defence Budget Set to Rise by Rs159 Billion in FY 2025-26
Defence Budget Sees 14.16% Hike to Rs2,122 Billion This Fiscal Year
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s defence budget is projected to increase by Rs159 billion in the upcoming financial year 2025-26, reflecting a 7.49 percent rise compared to the current fiscal year.
According to the media reports, the defence expenditures for FY 2025-26 are expected to reach Rs2,281 billion.
In comparison, the current year’s defence budget stands at Rs2,122 billion — an increase of 14.16 percent from the previous fiscal year, which had earmarked Rs1,858 billion for defence spending.
The consistent rise in the defence budget highlights the government’s focus on national security amid evolving regional and internal challenges.
