Deadly rains & snowfall kill six people in KP

Widespread Rains and Heavy Snowfall Cause Havoc in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar: Recent heavy rains and snowfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have led to widespread flooding and infrastructure damage, leaving several areas severely affected. Reports indicate that at least six individuals lost their lives, and numerous others sustained injuries as a result of the adverse weather conditions.

In the provincial capital of Peshawar and various parts of KP, heavy rain and snowfall triggered incidents of roof collapses and landslides, resulting in tragic outcomes. In one such incident in the Lower Kohistan district, a young child tragically lost their life due to a roof collapse in Badaber town of Peshawar.

Furthermore, in the Tajabad neighborhood of Board Bazaar, four members of a family perished when the roof of their house collapsed. Despite efforts to rush them to medical facilities, the family members could not be saved.

Additionally, several individuals sustained injuries on the Karakoram Highway (KKH) near Kohistan after heavy rain caused a vehicle to plunge into a ravine. The ongoing heavy rains have rendered the KKH impassable from Lower to Upper Kohistan, further complicating transportation in the region.

Regions like Swat and Shangla have also experienced significant snowfall, with Malam Jabba enveloped in heavy snow.

As rescuers work tirelessly to assist those affected and clear debris, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and provide necessary assistance to affected communities.
