“De Villiers‑powered Proteas smash Pakistan to lift WCL 2025 by 9 wickets”

Pakistan posted competitive total of 195 for 5 in allotted 20 overs

London-South Africa triumphed in the final of the World Championship of Legends with a resounding nine-wicket victory over Pakistan, powered by a vintage masterclass from the iconic AB de Villiers.

Tasked with chasing a challenging 196-run target, the Proteas made light work of it, reaching the total in just 16.5 overs. De Villiers was the star of the show, producing a breathtaking unbeaten knock of 120 off just 60 deliveries. His innings was laced with 12 boundaries and 7 towering sixes, dismantling the Pakistani bowling attack and sealing the title in emphatic fashion.

Supporting de Villiers at the other end was JP Duminy, who played a crucial role with a steady 50 not out off 28 balls, as the duo built a match-winning partnership to secure the title.

Earlier, Pakistan had posted a competitive total of 195 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Sharjeel Khan provided a strong start with a blistering 76-run knock, while Umar Amin contributed 36 runs to the scoreboard.

Despite Pakistan’s strong batting effort, it wasn’t enough to stop a determined South African side led by their seasoned stars.
