DC Sahiwal Challanged for Excess Fare

According to the details, Secretary RTA Wasif Yasin along with the team checked the vehicles on Multan Road.

Sahiwal: DC Sahiwal Challanged for Excess Fare. On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal Ikramul Haque, the Secretary Regional Transport Authority was mobilized in the field, the excess fare collected from 350 passengers was returned to the passengers, 50 vehicles were challaned for unfit, without route permit and overloading, one lakh 20 thousand rupees. A fine was imposed. According to the details, Secretary RTA Wasif Yasin along with the team checked the vehicles on Multan Road.

He recovered the fares of 350 passengers from the transporters who overcharged the passengers. He said that no discount will be taken from the transporter charging excess fare during Eid. Similarly, 50 vehicles were challaned for overloading without fitness certificate, route permit and were fined Rs. Later he also visited bus and wagon stands and reviewed cleanliness and other arrangements for passengers.

He also inquired about the fares from passengers going to other cities from Sahiwal. He directed the transporters to display the fares in a prominent place.

The city lies in a densely populated region between the Sutlej and Ravi rivers. The principal crops are wheat, cotton, tobacco, legumes, potato and oil seeds. Cotton goods and lacquered woodwork are manufactured.
