Daryl Mitchell Reaches No.1 ODI Batting Spot

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell has claimed the top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings after a sensational performance in the three-match series against India, which New Zealand won 2-1 to secure their first-ever ODI series triumph in India. Mitchell finished the series with a career-best 137 in the final match at Indore and was named Player of the Series, scoring a total of 352 runs—the highest by a visiting batter in a three-match series in India. His previous scores of 84 and an unbeaten 131 in the opening games helped him reach 845 rating points, the second-highest ever by a Kiwi after Glenn Turner’s 854 in 1983.

Mitchell briefly held the No. 1 position in November before Rohit Sharma claimed it, but he now surpasses Virat Kohli by 50 points.
