Crackdown on Electricity Theft Yields $105 Billion in Revenue
Authorities remain committed to continuing their operations until electricity theft is completely eradicated nationwide.
Islamabad: The government’s aggressive crackdown on electricity theft has resulted in the collection of 105 billion rupees.
The combined efforts of the government and military leadership aimed at economic recovery and alleviating the electricity crisis have led to this significant revenue boost. Additionally, over 83,000 thieves have been apprehended.
Between June 30 and July 17, authorities collected over 16.3 billion rupees from electricity thieves in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad. In Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Quetta, 4.3 billion rupees were recovered.

ISESCO’s crackdown on electricity thieves and defaulters continues with full force,
In line with the vision of all Federal government and the Ministry of Energy Power Division Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), indiscriminate actions against electricity thieves and defaulters are being carried out in all its operation circles.
IESCO Chief Executive Muhammad Naeem Jan, said that IESCO detection teams caught 14,000 electricity thieves during the ongoing operation, fines of 648.4 million rupees imposed and police arrested 1,596 electricity thieves.
On the other hand IESCO recovery teams recoverd 3.57 billion rupees from 137,000 defaulters. Electricity connections and transformers of numerous non-paying consumers is also disconnected.
IESCO Chief Executive stated that we are determined to go to the utmost extent against the elements harming the nation and economy, including electricity thieves and defaulters. He urged consumers to to play their part in this national campaign and report electricity thieves on helpline number 118 or Complaint and Monitoring Cell number 051-9252933.
