Court reserves verdict on Qureshi’s acquittal plea in May 9 cases
ISLAMABAD(News desk )The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad conducted a hearing in the May 9 case involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi and others, where the court reserved its decision on Qureshi’s request for acquittal.
The hearing was presided over by Judicial Magistrate Shehzad Khan. Representing Shah Mahmood Qureshi in court was his legal counsel, Advocate Ali Bukhari.
During the proceedings, Advocate Bukhari highlighted that multiple co-accused in the same case had already been acquitted. He referenced a ruling made by the court on March 8, 2025, in which several individuals were cleared of charges.
He argued that the accusations against Qureshi stem from a video message issued by the PTI founder, which allegedly led to acts of vandalism. The case against Qureshi was lodged at the Tarnol Police Station.
The court, after hearing the arguments, reserved its judgment on the acquittal plea.
