Cooperation in trade & economic fields is a win-win proposition, says PM at regional ministers’ conference.
Prime Minister highlights regional trade benefits and CPEC's next phase for connectivity and economic growth.
PM – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called regional trade and economic teamwork a “win-win” situation that helps all countries involved. He shared this view while speaking at a two-day Regional Transport Ministers Conference in Islamabad. The event brought together leaders from nations like Turkey, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and several others.
He stressed that working together on trade builds a shared interest in peace and development for the whole region. The Prime Minister also spoke about Pakistan’s important location, which connects the sea to major mountain ranges. This makes Pakistan’s ports, like Gwadar, key stops on international maritime routes.
The Prime Minister remembered the foresight of former leader Nawaz Sharif, who started the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He described CPEC as a game-changer that has linked markets and brought people across Asia and the Middle East closer together. This project has created new paths for trade and energy, acting as a major gateway for opportunity.

He announced that Pakistan is now moving into an exciting second phase of CPEC. This new phase will focus on building business partnerships and attracting more investment from China and other friendly countries. The Prime Minister added that in today’s world, connection means more than just roads and railways.
He explained that Pakistan is investing in digital systems to prepare for the modern technological revolution. With most of its population being young, he sees this as both a challenge and a great opportunity. By training its youth in technology and AI, Pakistan can turn its people into its most valuable asset for future progress and success.
