Contacting investors to bring investment in Pakistan: Ambassador Faisal Tirmizi

Dubai: Pakistani Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Faisal Niaz Tirmizi has said that we are doing our best on the diplomatic front to attract the world’s biggest investors to invest in Pakistan. In this regard, discussions have been held with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of different states of the United Arab Emirates and large business groups of different countries, they are trying to make agreements for investment in the IT sector in the near future. Positive news will start coming soon.

He expressed these views at a dinner given by Pakistan Business Council (PBC) in honor of him, Pakistani Consul General in Dubai Hassan Afzal Khan and former and new officials of PBC at Dubai’s local Hotel Dost Thani. Addressing the ceremony and talking to the media. He said that the role of PBC for the access of Pakistani products to international markets is commendable, they are the backbone of our economy, and we are always with them to guide them.

He said that during the recent visit of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to the United Arab Emirates, the delegations of the Chamber of Commerce of various states have met and expressed their interest in investing in various sectors in Pakistan and in this regard the Chamber of Commerce delegations will visit Pakistan. He said that despite the difficult situation, the future of Pakistan is bright and grace of almighty Allah it will get out of the difficult situation soon.

He urged the overseas Pakistanis to send their remittances to Pakistan because they are an important part of our economy. He told that during the meeting with the PBC delegation, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has given special instructions to play a vital role for increasing investment in the country and bringing Pakistani products to the global markets, on which work has been started rapidly.

On this occasion, Consul General Hasan Afzal Khan while talking to the media said that due to the strong and long standing relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, the two countries stand by each other in every difficult hour. The United Arab Emirates government went ahead and provided all possible help to the Pakistani flood victims. He said that all possible facilities are being provided to around 1.7 million Pakistanis living here.

Mr. Mustafa Hemani renowned businessman, member of PBC Central Committee and Chairman of Himani Group, while addressing the ceremony, welcomed Pakistani Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi and Consul General Dubai Hasan Afzal Khan and said that due to diplomatic efforts, new avenues of investment will soon open in Pakistan. He expressed that government’s excellent working relationship with PBC and further strengthens and integrates it to bring Pakistan out of difficult situation and strengthen the economy on war footing.

He said that Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has given us the task that PBC should play an important role for the access of Pakistani products to all global markets on a large scale, so in this regard the Government of Pakistan and our diplomats in every country will facilitate Pakistani Businessmen.

He told that in this regard, the Prime Minister has announced him to make his overseas adviser for increasing exports and to create bridge among businessmen and government, it’s notification will be issued soon. He said that we all have to strengthen the economy of our country, for this a heavy responsibility is on the overseas Pakistanis.

Addressing the ceremony on this occasion, PBC Vice President Nafees Ahmed congratulated the newly elected officials of PBC and paid tribute to the services of the previous officials. Addressing on this occasion, the former president of PBC Ahmed Shekhani said that the new officials will further improve their efforts in the development of the country’s economy. The ceremony was also addressed by important members of PBC, Sultan Mehmood, Mustafa Sultan Khawaja and others.

While Khurram Khawaja, the main member of PBC, Syed Salim Akhtar, Chairman of Pakistan Overseas Community Global, Ali Rao, Head of Elixar Group, Ejaz Ahmed, Adnan Rashid Memon, Head of Property Linkers and others also participated.

On this occasion, Pakistani Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Consul General Hasan Afzal Khan and others were presented with flower bouquets and memorial shields. After the ceremony a sumptuous dinner was arranged in honor of the guests.
