Comprehensive Security Plan Announced for Muharram 1447 AH in Multan Region

For the security of processions, 6,755 police officers and personnel along with 2,752 volunteers will be deployed.

Multan (Special Correspondent) – On the special directives of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Multan, Captain (R) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, an extensive security plan has been finalized to ensure peace and safety during Muharram 1447 AH across the districts of Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, and Lodhran.

According to the RPO spokesperson, a total of 909 processions and 3,182 majalis are scheduled to take place throughout the region. In view of the large gatherings and religious significance of the month, robust and extraordinary security arrangements have been made to protect lives and property.

For the security of processions, 6,755 police officers and personnel along with 2,752 volunteers will be deployed. Additionally, 3,889 police personnel and 1,876 volunteers will be assigned to maintain order and safety during majalis.

The spokesperson further revealed that 161 processions and 506 majalis have been categorized as ‘Category A’ events due to their sensitive nature, prompting heightened security measures. CCTV surveillance will be carried out at all key locations, while walkthrough gates and metal detectors will be installed at entry points to ensure comprehensive screening of participants.

The RPO office confirmed that a coordinated security strategy has been devised in collaboration with district administrations, peace committees, police departments, and other law enforcement agencies to ensure flawless implementation of the plan.

RPO Captain (R) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry reiterated the police department’s commitment to public safety, stating, “Ensuring public safety is our foremost priority. We appeal to all citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, individuals, or objects to the nearest authorities to help maintain peace and order during this sacred month.”
