Collective Punishments and Land Grab: Israel’s Escalating Aggression in West Bank

Foreign Ministry Warns of Unprecedented Destruction and Targeting Operations

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has strongly denounced Israeli incitement aimed at escalating the situation in the West Bank, labeling it an extension of “crimes of genocide and displacement.” The ministry specifically criticized extremist ministers, Smotrich and Ben Gvir, for their ongoing incitement and targeting of Palestinian citizens.

The two extremist ministers, Smotrich and Ben Gvir, continue their incitement and targeting of Palestinian citizens by imposing more collective punishments, whether related to the continuation of the war of genocide against our people in the Gaza Strip and the call to consolidate its occupation and reduce its area to the point of displacing its population.

At the same time, their calls are escalating to deploy more barriers and abuse Palestinian citizens and prevent them from moving and traveling in the occupied West Bank by closing the entrances to Palestinian towns, cities and camps and turning them into real prisons that are difficult to exit or enter.

The ministry warns against Ben Gvir’s calls to distribute more weapons to settlers, incitement to control more Palestinian land and impose forced displacement and population displacement under the slogan of “resolving the conflict”, and to stifle the opportunity to embody the Palestinian state on the ground, as promoted by Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich.

The Ministry stresses that the statements of Ben Gvir and Smotrich are echoed both in the unprecedented destruction and targeting operations in Jenin and its camp, as well as in the attacks of the armed terrorist settler militias and the escalation against Palestinian citizens, their lands and their property; in an effort to accelerate the crime of the gradual creeping annexation of the West Bank and prepare the conditions for the displacement of its residents. The Ministry views with great seriousness these calls and the racist colonial policy, and calls on all countries and the international community to take the necessary measures and sanctions imposed by international law against the two extremist ministers in order to put an end to their role in igniting fires in the arena of conflict, and sabotaging the efforts made to stop the war of extermination and displacement against our people and restore calm in the arena of conflict.
