COAS Chairs 268th Corps Commanders' Conference, Emphasizes National Security and Counter-Terrorism Efforts
Rawalpindi: (Muddassar Iqbal)- Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), presided over the 268th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at the General Headquarters (GHQ). The conference commenced with a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and citizens who sacrificed their lives for the peace and stability of the nation.
The forum was briefed on the current geo-strategic landscape and the emerging national security challenges, along with Pakistan’s strategic responses to these evolving threats. A detailed assessment of both regional and internal security dynamics was conducted, with a resolute reaffirmation to eradicate terrorism in all its forms.
The forum stressed that no one would be allowed to disrupt peace in Balochistan and vowed to thwart the nefarious designs of foreign-backed proxies, social disruptive elements, and their political supporters. It also made clear that the nexus between these foreign and domestic elements would be exposed and dealt with decisively.
The forum highlighted the importance of implementing Vision Azm-e-Istehkam and the National Action Plan (NAP), emphasizing a national approach. It also supported the establishment of District Coordination Committees across Pakistan to expedite the implementation of NAP and ensure coordinated inter-institutional efforts.
COAS General Munir assured full support to the government and law enforcement agencies in enforcing measures against illicit economic activities, particularly those linked to terrorism. He underscored that there is no place for terrorists or their facilitators in Pakistan.

On the international front, the forum expressed deep concern over human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and ongoing ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC). Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the people of Kashmir and condemned the violations in Gaza, expressing full solidarity with the Palestinian people.
In conclusion, COAS General Munir directed field commanders to uphold the highest standards of operational readiness, stressing the importance of rigorous training and peak combat preparedness.
