Coalition govt decides no early elections under Imran’s pressure

All the allied parties of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led-government have taken a unanimous decision not to conduct early elections under the pressure of Imran Khan.
According to the a special meeting of the heads of the coalition partners of the sitting government was held here in Lahore at the invitation of PM Shehbaz Sharif.
The meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister and Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) head Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other parties leadership participated.
Maulana Shah Owais Noorani, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Rana Sanaullah, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Maryam Aurangzeb, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Shah Zain Bugti, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Akram Duran, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Mohsen Dravid, Aslam Bhutani were present in the meeting. Fahad Hussain and others also participated in the meeting that continued for two and a half hours.
The channel report said that the allied parties’ heads while addressing the meeting have stated that the early elections will not be held under the pressure of Imran Khan.
The sources said that the allied parties meeting has also decided that the early elections will be held under the unanimous decision of the government coalition.
He said they have reservations on the interpretation of Article 63A, adding that the Election Commission should decide the foreign funding case which has been pending for years.
Saad said Imran Khan was trying to make institutions controversial, he is a misguided man as the devils descend on him.
The PML-N leader said Imran Khan calls others “Cherry Blossom” but is a big one flatter himself.
Meanwhile, The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday passed a resolution on the floor to bar the state instituitions from meddling during the Punjab Chief Minister election to be held on July 22.
During the Punjab Assembly session, Deputy Opposition Leader Raja Basharat moved the resolution which was unanimously passed by the House while the resolution stated that the secret agencies and other institutions harassing the opposition members and were tracing them everywhere and the state machinery was also in use against the opposition assembly members, the resolution stated.
“The House condemns the harassment of lawmakers by the agencies,” the resolution stated.
Punjab Assembly speaker said that these bills will help restore the sanctity of the House, adding that those who violated the sanctity of the Assembly must be held accountable and the matters will be done transparently, he added.
On the other hand, restoration of the Assembly Secretariat powers bill, and the Punjab Privileges Repeal and Revival Bill were also approved.
