CNG supply halted in Karachi amid Ramadan crisis

SSGC prioritizes households, suspends CNG distribution temporarily

Karachi: (Web Desk) – The gas crisis has worsened during the holy month of Ramadan, causing serious concern for consumers who rely on compressed natural gas as an alternative energy source, according to 24NewsHD TV channel.

Authorities in Karachi have indefinitely suspended gas supply to the CNG sector, leading to the closure of all CNG stations across Sindh and Balochistan until further notice.

Sui Southern Gas Company stated the suspension aims to prioritize gas for households and commercial users during Ramadan, ensuring supply during Sehr and Iftar hours. Outside these periods, shortages remain severe, affecting daily transportation needs.

Pakistan’s foreign reserves rise to twenty one billion dollars

In Karachi, gas supply to the CNG sector is being cut daily from 8am to 3pm under load management measures.

The All Pakistan Petroleum and CNG Association strongly criticized the decision, highlighting the added burden on citizens already struggling with rising fuel costs. The association pointed out that a recent Rs55 hike in petrol and diesel prices has intensified financial pressures and warned that the closure of alternative fuel options will further increase transportation costs and economic hardship.
