CM Punjab Announces Automated Monitoring System to Combat Pollution on Earth Day

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the introduction of an automated monitoring system to tackle pollution as part of the province’s broader environmental protection agenda.
In her Earth Day message, the chief minister emphasized that the planet is a trust for future generations and highlighted the urgent need to preserve natural resources and combat climate change. “We must confront the challenges posed by climate change, and the Punjab government is leading efforts to protect natural habitats,” she said.
Maryam Nawaz underscored that environmental protection is a core policy of the Punjab government. Under the Green Punjab Campaign, millions of trees have been planted, and a Smart Environment Force has been established to monitor industrial emissions and ensure compliance.

The chief minister also mentioned that advanced seeds are being distributed to farmers and that the government has introduced a dedicated Climate Policy for the province. She reiterated Punjab’s commitment to building a greener and cleaner future through collaborative efforts.
