CM Maryam Nawaz Orders Urgent Action to Prevent Monsoon Tragedies

Chief Minister urged citizens to avoid residing in structurally unsafe buildings during the rainy season

LAHORE: (Asif Iqbal)- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep concern over the loss of precious human lives caused by collapsing roofs, falling walls, and electrocution incidents during recent spells of monsoon rain across the province.

Taking notice of the increasing number of rain-related casualties, the Chief Minister directed the provincial administration and concerned departments to submit detailed reports on evacuations from dilapidated buildings. She emphasized the urgent need to remove exposed and hanging electric wires from public spaces and instructed that letters be issued to relevant authorities for immediate action.

CM Maryam Nawaz expressed sorrow over the repeated incidents of roof collapses and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. “I deeply sympathize with the families of those who lost their lives during the rains,” she stated.
