In the wake of the tragic terrorist attack on the Dasu Hydropower Project staff in Shangla’s Besham city, the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan has strongly condemned the incident and demanded thorough investigation along with severe punishment for the perpetrators.

The attack, which claimed the lives of at least six individuals, including five Chinese nationals, occurred when a suicide bomber targeted a vehicle carrying Chinese nationals, as reported by Malakand’s deputy inspector general of police (DIG).

The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan confirmed the unfortunate deaths of five Chinese citizens and one Pakistani citizen in the attack.

Expressing deep condolences and sincere sympathy to the victims and their families, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Pakistan assured that they were actively collaborating with the Pakistani authorities to manage the aftermath of the incident.

In a statement issued shortly after the attack, the Chinese Embassy emphasized the immediate need for a comprehensive investigation into the matter and urged for the swift apprehension and punishment of those responsible for perpetrating this heinous act of violence.

Additionally, in light of the heightened security risks, the embassy issued a reminder to Chinese citizens and enterprises operating in Pakistan to remain vigilant, enhance security protocols, and diligently adhere to safety precautions to mitigate potential threats.
